CHENEY, Wash. — Eastern Washington men's basketball lost both junior guard and forward Cedric Coward and junior forward Dane Erikstrup to the transfer portal on Wednesday. The two join several other EWU players who also announced their plans to enter the transfer portal.
Coward and Erikstrup combine to mark the fifth EWU men's basketball players to enter the transfer portal since David Riley's departure to take over as the next head coach at Washington State. The Junior forwards join teammates Ethan Price, LeJuan Watts and Casey Jones as Eags from the 2023-24 season to enter the transfer portal.
Coward was EWU's leading scorer this past season averaging 15.4 points per game and also led the team in rebounds per game with 6.7.
Erikstrup, burst onto the scene later in the season with a 32-point performance against South Dakota and followed that performance up with a 27-point game against North Dakota State. Erikstrup averaged 10.8 points per game.
