CHENEY, Wash. — A tough day for the Eastern Washington men's basketball team, as the Eags lose a 6'6" forward to the transfer portal. LeJuan Watts departure marks the third player EWU has lost to the portal this offseason.
Watts joined the Eags in 2022 as a freshman, where he was redshirted.
This season, Watts averaged 9.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He was also named the Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year.
Watts shared the news on Instagram Monday, giving thanks to his coaches, teammates, family and friends.
"Eag Nation, I can not thank you enough! I could not be more blessed to name Eastern Washington my home for the last two years," he wrote.
This decision comes shortly after Eastern's head coach, David Riley, took the men's basketball head coach position at Washington State University.
Watts is the third player to enter the transfer portal, following Ethan Price and Casey Jones.
