15th ranked Gonzaga WBB clinch WCC title with win over Santa Clara 53-46

The Zags clinched at least a share of its fourth straight regular season title with the win.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga women's basketball clinched at least a share of the West Coast Conference regular season title with a 53-46 win against Santa Clara on Saturday.

The 15th ranked Zags did so on an emotional Senior Night for Jessie Loera and Katie Campbell. Loera was surprised by her sister Jamie pregame, which had her in tears. Campbell was recognized for her final season, which was ended early because of a knee injury she suffered in early February against BYU.

Loera hit a big layup with 1:37 left in the fourth period to get the Zags up nine points. That felt like the dagger that put this one away for the Zags. Loera finished with five points and four assists.

Gorward Jenn Wirth led all Zags with 11 points.

Gonzaga finishes the regular season with three road games. They can win the WCC regular season title outright with a win against Loyola Marymount on February 20.
