MALIBU, Calif. — Gonzaga women's basketball pulled away from Pepperdine in the third quarter in a 64-50 win on the road on Saturday.
The 13th ranked Zags used its defense to take control of this contest and turned it into offense. Gonzaga held Pepperdine to 3 of 17 shooting in the third.
Jill Townsend played a big part in the quarter, as she scored 12 of her 13 points during it.
Melody Kempton came off the bench and added 12 points for the Zags. Every player for Gonzaga who played scored in the game.
With the win, Gonzaga improves to 27-2 overall and 16-1 in conference play.
The Zags will likely need to win out in the regular season and West Coast Conference Tournament to host in the NCAA Tournament.
Gonzaga's final regular season game is February 29 on the road against Portland.
