13th ranked Gonzaga women rout LMU in second half to secure win

LOS ANGELES — Jill Townsend erupted for 21 points as the Zags defeated LMU 75-47 on Thursday night.

Townsend went 9-of-16 from the field in just 23 minutes of play. Jenn Wirth and Kaylynne Truong had a 11 points apiece while Kayleigh Truong rounded out the team's double digit scorers with 10.

Gonzaga capitalized on LMU's turnovers, scoring 25 points off of the Lions' 23 turnovers. The Zags also thrived on the glass, as they scored 17 points off of 16 offensive rebounds. LMU only had six offensive rebounds.

The Zags truly dominated in nearly all offensive categories. Their bench outscored LMU's 25-9. The Bulldogs also dominated in the paint, scoring 30 points there compared to LMU's 18.

Gonzaga plays next at Pepperdine on Saturday at 2 PM.
