SPOKANE, Wash. — On Sunday night just after 9 p.m., the Spokane Police Department (SPD) responded to a call about a man who was drinking at a bar in the 1400 block of E. Illinois Ave. and began arguing with a bystander.

The officers who responded to the call learned that the man was cut off from having more drinks and was asked to leave the bar. He left the bar but then started to urinate in the parking lot in front of the customers, who were outside on the patio area.

Officers said the man then grabbed a gun and fired 2-3 rounds towards the bar and the customers outside. A bullet hole was found in the fence around the patio, but thankfully no one was hit.

According to SPD, they located the man nearby and arrested him. The suspect had left his gun in a recycling bin to hide it. Officers said the gun was loaded and left near children who were riding their bikes.

22-year-old, Mateo L. Bear, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on 10 counts of 1st Degree Assault. He faced a judge this afternoon, and his bail was set at $250,000.
