Construction crews to work on Centennial Trail starting this month

The project is expected to be done by early September, according to the Washington State Parks department.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Centennial Trail is getting a face lift starting this month.

Washington State Parks will close approximately 14 miles of the Centennial Trail for repairs. Those repairs include repairing the trail surface, resurfacing asphalt and replacing and refurbishing certain safety features. Some of those safety features include the replacement or refurbishment of existing bollards and the improvement of pavement markings.

The project is expected to wrap up around Labor Day weekend in early September, but the department said the timeline is subject to change.

Some trail access points will close while the repairs are ongoing. Here are some of the anticipated closures:

  • State Line
  • Harvard
  • Barker
  • Old Mission
  • Mirabeau
  • Islands
  • Donkey Islands at Maringo
