Strong wind Saturday for Inland Northwest

Wind advisories are in place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday across the Inland Northwest.

SPOKANE, Wash. — An incoming storm will bring widespread, strong wind gusts and rain to much of the Inland Northwest on Saturday.

It’s the second in a series of storms taking aim at the northwest in the days to come. The first arrives early Friday and is so fast-moving and weak, the impact will be minimal.

That is not the case on Saturday.

Wind advisories are in place for Central and Eastern Washington from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Wind gusts are expected to reach 45 to 55 miles per hour. Wind that strong is enough to break tree branches and blow loose items.

The wind arrives with rain and mountain snow. Showers will persist on and off throughout the day. In the Cascades, northern mountain passes could pick up a few inches of snow on Saturday. While that isn’t a significant amount, it is enough to have some minor travel impacts.
