SPOKANE, Wash. — Snow is falling across the Inland Northwest on Wednesday morning, just as people head out for the morning commute. The Spokane area could see between 1-2 inches of snow before switching over to rain. Although most school districts remain open, there are a few that have delayed the start of school.

It's a Weather Impact Alert Day for the Inland Northwest as our first impactful snow of the season hits just in time for the Wednesday morning commute.
A storm off the coast is undergoing rapid cyclogenesis, which means some serious impacts for us. While most of the activity stays on the west side, snow will spread through eastern Washington and North Idaho before changing to rain in the afternoon.
Snow in Spokane should move out by 11 a.m. or noon. Areas north of Highway 2 will likely stay snowy all day, hence the higher totals.
