SPOKANE, Wash. — With a Winter Storm Warning in place for much of eastern Washington and north Idaho, many school districts are choosing to delay or cancel classes on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
The forecast calls for 3-6 inches of snow for lower elevations like Spokane. The mountains will get about 6-8 inches, with some areas picking up more than a foot of snow.
We have already heard about closures or delays from several districts, including Central Valley School District, West Valley School District, and Pullman Schools, which are all on a two-hour delay.
Spokane Public Schools is closed for winter break.

Spokane and the Inland Northwest could see some of the coldest weather in years by the middle of the week. A reinforcement of arctic air following a round of heavy snow will drop temperatures below zero Wednesday and Thursday.
An incoming cold front, bringing the bitter cold, will arrive with another round of snow Starting early Tuesday morning for much of the Inland Northwest. Winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings are in place in anticipation of the incoming round of snow. Spokane and much of the lower elevation areas will pick up between 3 and 6 inches of snow while the mountains will get about 6-8 inches with some locations picking up more than a foot of fresh snow on Tuesday.
