SPOKANE, Wash. — Whitman came from behind in the second half to beat Whitworth 86-80 to win the Northwest Conference Tournament championship game on Saturday.
It was the third straight year these two teams have met in the tournament title game. Whitworth jumped out to an eight point halftime lead thanks to some hot three-point shooting from the Pirates.
Ben College led the way for he Pirates with 33 points and made seven three-pointers.
Whitman College used a 20-3 run midway through the second half to overcome it all to claim back-to-back titles. Dame Duckett had a career-high 31 points for the Blues.
