LETHBRIDGE, AB — The Spokane Chiefs have clinched a Western Hockey League playoff spot.
Spokane did so by getting a 6-3 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday. The Chiefs only led 3-2 going into the final period, but pulled away with two goals from forward Adam Beckman and another from forward Luke Toporowski.
Beckman and Toporowski both had two goals in the win.
Lukas Parik was the starting goaltender for the Chiefs and saved 41 of 44 Lethbridge shots.
The Chiefs return to the postseason after getting bounced out of the WHL Playoffs in the Western Conference Finals last year.
The Chiefs' next game is on Friday night on the road against Swift Current.
