SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane UFC fighter had a big win over the weekend in the octagon.
After being out of the octagon for more than a year, Brady Hiestand (or "Bam Bam," as some would call him) won his comeback fight against Garrett Armfield Saturday night in UFC on ESPN 58.
The bout ended 1:52 into the third round after Armfield tapped out due to a strong chokehold from Hiestand.
This is a big win for Hiestand as he makes a comeback after being out for a decent chunk of time due to injury.
"I was supposed to fight, and I had to get pulled out because I got MRSA, had really bad staph, and you know, went septic. And then I tore my knee again," Hiestand told KREM 2 before the fight.
After a 14-month setback, Hiestand returned to the octagon, leaving with a victory and looking to build this momentum for his next fight.
