No. 4 seed Gonzaga women to face No. 13 seed UC Irvine in first round of NCAA Tournament

Gonzaga is heading into the NCAA Tournament with a 30-3 overall record, going 16-0 in conference play.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Coming off their loss in the WCC championship game, the Gonzaga women's basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. 

The Bulldogs will face off against No. 13 seed UC Irvine at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 in the McCarthey Athletics Center. If you can't make it to The Kennel, the match up will be available to stream on ESPN2. 

Gonzaga is heading into the NCAA Tournament with a 30-3 overall record, going 16-0 in conference play. Head Coach Lisa Fortier was named the WCC Coach of the Year, and Yvonne Ejim was named WCC Player of the Year.

The first-round games of the NCAA Tournament will take place on March 22 and 23, with the second-round games on March 24 and 25. 

The Zags have made it to the NCAA Tournament eight times in the last decade.
