SPOKANE, Wash. — More honors are coming for Gonzaga women's basketball head coach Lisa Fortier.
On Thursday, she was named a finalist for the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award. Foriter is one of five coaches to make the final list.
Fortier has led Gonzaga to a 29-2 record this season, including an undefeated conference schedule. The team has won 23 games in a row and is ranked No. 15 in the AP Poll. Gonzaga next plays in the WCC Tournament in Las Vegas, where the team will be the top seed.
Earlier this week, Fortier was named Coach of the Year in the West Coast Conference.
To be eligible for the Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year Award, coaches must compete in one of the 26 conferences deemed to be "mid-major."
Other finalists for this year's award include Carly Thibault-Dudonis (Fairfield), Vanessa Blair-Lewis (George Mason), Kevin Borseth (Green Bay), and Linda La Rocque (UNLV).
The winner will be announced on April 3.
