SPOKANE, Wash — After a dominating season on the court, the Gonzaga women's basketball team dominated the West Coast Conference season awards.
Yvonne Ejim was named both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while also being named to the All-WCC First Team. Ejim led the WCC in scoring at 20 points per game while shooting 62.8 percent from the field. She has scored in double figures for 35 games in a row.
Head Coach Lisa Fortier was named Coach of the Year. She led Gonzaga to an undefeated season in the WCC, with a 16-0 record. This is the sixth Coach of the Year honor for Fortier, who also won the award last year.
Maud Huijbens was named Sixth Woman of the Year. She averaged 6.7 points per game for Gonzaga while coming off the bench.
In addition to Ejim, three other Gonzaga players were named to the All-WCC Women's Basketball First Team, including Brynna Maxwell, Kayleigh Truong, and Kaylynne Truong.
Eliza Hollingsworth was named to the All-WCC Women's Basketball Second Team.
