Gonzaga's Steele Venters to miss upcoming season with Achilles injury

Venters was making his way back to the court after tearing his right ACL in November 2023.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga Basketball will be without Steele Venters again this season after the guard suffered a left Achilles injury.

“We are heartbroken for Steele,” GU Head Coach Mark Few said. “He was working so hard to come back from his knee injury. We will continue to support Steele through his healing process and know he will come back better and stronger.”

Venters was making his way back to the court after tearing his right ACL in November 2023.

The 6'7" Ellensburg native earned the Big Sky Player of the Year award and was a unanimous First Team All-Big Sky selection after averaging 15.3 points per game during the 2022 season at Eastern Washington University.
