SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga forward Yvonne Ejim is being recognized as one of the best players in the country. On Thursday, she was named a finalist for the 2024 Katrina McClain Award.
The award goes to the top power forward in women's college basketball. This year's finalists include:
- Yvonne Ejim, Gonzaga
- Angel Reese, LSU
- Kiki Iriafen, Stanford
- Aaliyah Edwards, UConn
- Alissa Pili, Utah
Earlier this week, Ejim was named a finalist for the 2024 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award, as well as the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while also being named to the All-WCC First Team.
Ejim has also been named to the Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Midseason Team and the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and All-America Watch List.
Ejim led the WCC in scoring at 20 points per game while shooting 62.8 percent from the field. She has scored in double figures for 35 games in a row.
Last month, Ejim announced her intent to use her COVID year of eligibility to return to Gonzaga for a fifth year.
