SPOKANE, Wash — It's been a dominating season for Gonzaga senior forward Yvonne Ejim and now she's getting more national attention.
On Wednesday, Ejim was named a finalist for the 2024 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award. She is one of five players to make it to the final round. This is also her second year as a finalist for the award.
Earlier this week, Ejim was named both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year for the West Coast Conference, while also being named to the All-WCC First Team. Ejim led the WCC in scoring at 20 points per game while shooting 62.8 percent from the field. She has scored in double figures for 35 games in a row.
Ejim has also been named to the Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Midseason Team and the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and All-America Watch List.
Last month, Ejim announced her intent to use her COVID year of eligibility to return to Gonzaga for a fifth year.
