SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women got back in the win column Thursday night as they defeated San Francisco 56-38.
The Zags didn’t shoot particularly well. They shot 41% shooting overall and 23% from three. The Dons were even worse, shooting 31% from the field and going just 1-of-13 from three. Gonzaga outrebounded the Dons 38-28 and also had nine more assists than San Francisco.
Melody Kempton and LeeAnne Wirth led the way for the Zags with 10 points apiece. Jenn Wirth, Jill Townsend, and Louise Forsyth each had eight points apiece as well.
Gonzaga’s next game is against Santa Clara on Saturday at 2 PM.
