SPOKANE, Wash. — Roausers stores are installing plexiglass safety barriers at every check stand in an effort to better protect customers, and employees, from the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The company announced in a press release that installation would be complete across the entire chain by Sunday, March 29.
The barriers will also go up in other areas of the store where customers and employees closely interact, like the deli.
"Our safety, cleaning, and sanitizing protocols have been ramped up exponentially over the last few weeks," said President and CEO of Rosauers Jeff Philipps. "The safety barriers are one more step in our pledge to providing the cleanest, and safest environment possible for our shoppers and employees."
Rosauers is also expanding hours reserved for at-risk populations to shop in their store. At risk shoppers can access the story early from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
There will also be marks on the floor to designate where shoppers should stand in line at check stands to maintain proper social distancing.
