These are Spokane County ZIP codes with the most coronavirus cases

Track the COVID-19 outbreak in Spokane County with a map of cases by ZIP code.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The Spokane Regional Health District is categorizing cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by ZIP code. 

Nearly 1,900 people have contracted COVID-19 in Spokane County since the pandemic began. 

Areas with five or fewer cases are not displayed on the SRHD map in order to protect patient privacy. All numbers listed below have been updated as of Friday morning. 

Kelli Hawkins with the Spokane Regional Health District pointed out that a person who lives in one area or ZIP code still could have contracted the virus somewhere else.

The health district doesn't have detailed demographics of the cases in each ZIP code.

Here are the top five ZIP codes in Spokane County with the most coronavirus cases as of Friday morning: 

  • 99208: 248 COVID-19 cases, with a case rate of 458.9 per 100,000 people
  • 99207: 197 COVID-19 cases, with a case rate of 634.5 per 100,000 people
  • 99202: 184 COVID-19 cases, with a case rate of  856.5 per 100,000 people
  • 99205, 133 COVID-19 cases, with a case rate of 315.7 per 100,000 people
  • 99206: 117 COVID-19 cases, with a case rate of 317 per 100,000 people

The health district has also compiled a list of coronavirus cases and deaths by age ranges.

Forty-six percent of people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus are between the ages of 20 to 39 years old. Nearly 60% of all cases have been reported in people under the age of 40. 

Many of the deaths are in people between the ages of 70 to 89 years old, but one death has been reported for a person in their 30s. 

Forty people have died in Spokane County since the coronavirus pandemic began. The breakdown of deaths by age is as follows:

  • One in a person ages 30 to 39 years old
  • Five in people ages 50 to 59 years old
  • Five in people ages 60 to 69 years old
  • Thirteen in people ages 70 to 79 years old
  • Thirteen in people ages 80 to 89 years old
  • Three in people ages 90 to 99 years old
