Stolen truck crashes into North Spokane taco restaurant, passenger seriously injured

SPOKANE, Wash — A suspect crashed a stolen truck into a taco restaurant in North Spokane on Monday afternoon, causing a passenger to sustain serious injuries.

The truck crashed into the Tacos El Sol at North Division and East Glass Avenue. It happened around 10 a.m.

According to a Washington State Patrol trooper, an officer was chasing a woman driving the truck. The trooper said she was driving aggressively and swerved into oncoming traffic. Then, the trooper said she hit the restaurant.

The trooper said the woman stole the truck and tried to flee arrest.

Washington State Patrol trooper Jeff Sevigney said a passenger sustained serious injuries.

The restaurant is closed for the remainder of Monday. The owner said it will re-open Tuesday.
