Suspect in custody, victim taken to hospital in downtown Spokane shooting

The condition of the person who was shot is unknown, according to the Spokane Police Department.

SPOKANE, Wash. — One person is in custody and another was taken to the hospital as the result of a shooting in downtown Spokane Friday night.

The Spokane Police Department responded is responding to an incident near downtown Spokane Friday night.

Police say the shooting happened at Division and Pacific.

SPD said they do not know the condition of the person who was shot at this time. The person who was shot was taken to the hospital.

KREM 2 spoke to a witness who said her back windshield was hit and shattered during the shooting.

"All of a sudden, a guy came out in the middle of the road and he was walking backwards," Camille Blackmore said. "He had a selfie stick and a gun, and then all of a sudden, I hear a shot in the back of my back window, and my back window marbleized immediately."
