POST FALLS, Idaho – A Post Falls adult film actress convicted in a murder-for-hire plot was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday.
Katrina Danforth’s sentencing includes 120 months in prison, three years supervised release and a $1,000 fine.
By the date of her sentencing, Danforth has served one year, two months and seven days in jail, according to court records.
Court documents say that Danforth previously worked in the adult entertainment industry and performed in several adult pornography films. She also worked as an exotic dancer, court records say.
According to court documents, Danforth wanted the father of her child, identified by the initials R.H., murdered. She discussed it with another person who gave her then number of a hitman who was an undercover police officer.
On Oct. 20, 2018, Danforth called the man who she believed was a hitman and agreed to pay him $5,000, court documents say.
Danforth told the hitman that his body had to be found and she did not care if others in the home were harmed as long as her child was safe, court documents say.
She later mailed a “thank you” card with $2,500 inside to the hitman’s address in Montana on Nov. 10, 2018, according to court documents
FBI agents later arrested Danforth Dec. 19, 2018, at the Spokane International Airport. She waived a bail hearing Dec. 21.
Danforth pleaded guilty to two counts of use of interstate commerce facilities in commission for murder-for-hire on Aug. 5, 2019.
Court documents say Danforth became pregnant with her daughter following an alleged rape by R.H. in 2013. She believed that R.H. drugged her and recalls no specifics about the alleged assault, except that she woke up naked and disoriented.
Danforth became distraught about R.H. visiting her when she became convinced that he or another male was molesting her, court documents say.
