Spokane International Airport receives $18 million in funding

The Spokane Airport is one of seven airports that received the funding.
American Airlines is moving from Concourse C to Concourse A/B so all late-night flights come into the same concourse.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane International Airport will receive over $18 million in funding.

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell said that the Spokane airport is one of seven airports across Washington State to receive funding through the Airport Improvement Program.

Here is the breakdown of the funding for the different airports.

  • Spokane International Airport: $18,162,037
  • Tri-Cities Airport (Pasco): $12,734,150
  • Arlington Municipal Airport: $5,178,070
  • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport: $5,034,379
  • Sanderson Field (Shelton): $4,300,328
  • Bowerman Airport (Hoquiam): $2,550,000
  • Olympia Regional Airport: $129,810

“Spokane is on the move — last year the airport welcomed a record 4.13 million travelers," Cantwell said. "With the opening of the new terminal building, this funding will help rehabilitate runway infrastructure to accommodate this added capacity at the airport."

The Spokane International Airport celebrated the grand opening of its C-Concourse expansion earlier this summer, which cost $150 million.
