Spokane County closures for Independence Day

Multiple closures will take place on the Fourth of July.

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Independence Day is coming, and there are some things you need to know.

Many city closures will take place on the holiday, but there will also be things open for you and the family to enjoy.

Below is a list of city closures on Thursday, July 4:

  • Spokane County Offices -- closed
  • Spokane County Courthouse offices -- closed
  • Public Safety Building -- closed
  • Public Works Building -- closed
  • Veterans Services -- closed
  • SCRAPS -- closed
  • Regional Solid Waste System Transfer stations -- closed

Even though there are various closures, many other places are open to the public on the holiday. Below is a list of things that will be open on Thursday, July 4:

  • Northside Family Aquatics Facility (801 East Handy Road, Colbert WA 99002) -- open
  • Southside Family Aquatics Facility (3724 East 61st Ave, Spokane WA 99223) -- open
    • both locations offer two public swim sessions daily, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You can make online reservations up to 14 days in advance by visiting www.spokanecounty.org/4938/Public-Swim. Walk-up tickets are limited.
  • Latah Creek Golf Course -- open

  • Meadow Wood Golf Course -- open

  • Dishman Hills Natural Area -- open
  • Prairie View Park -- open
