SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The Fourth of July is Thursday, and Spokane County wants to remind you that the sale and use of fireworks is illegal in unincorporated Spokane County.
You might be including fireworks in your Independence Day celebrations. With that in mind, Spokane County also wants to remind you that the sale and use of fireworks in unincorporated Spokane County could result in a fine of over $500 for each violation.
Spokane County says cities and towns have the authority to determine what restrictions they can impose on the use of fireworks.
Fireworks are illegal in the following cities across Spokane County
- Spokane
- Spokane Valley
- Liberty Lake
- Millwood
- Cheney
- Unincorporated parts of Spokane County
Medical Lake also suspended fireworks for the rest of the year.
In Airway Heights, lighting off fireworks is permitted only on private property between the hours of 8 p.m. and midnight on the Fourth of July. Lighting off fireworks in public parks, roadways, sidewalks or other public property is not permitted.
