Next heat wave to push temps past 100 degrees again in Spokane

Weather Impact Alert: Extreme heat for Spokane will push temperatures to near 100 degrees all this week and weekend.

SPOKANE, Wash. — This July has been relentless when it comes to the heat. This week is no different for the Inland Northwest. Temperatures will soar to the upper 90s to the 100s for the second week in a row. The KREM 2 Weather Team has noted that Tuesday, July 16th to Monday, July 22nd will be Weather Impact Alert Days - recognizing that those days will have a meaningful impact on our day-to-day lives due to the extreme heat.

Heat Advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service Spokane from Tuesday through Thursday for the start of this heat wave. Either more advisories or an upgrade to excessive heat warnings will be issued by this weekend to cover some of the hottest forecasted days.

In Spokane, high temperatures will range from 97 to 104 degrees each day. Both days this weekend are forecast at 102 and 104 respectively. The hottest locations in the Inland Northwest may push 108 degrees during this stretch. 

Daily record highs are possible, especially on the hottest day this Sunday. Saturday's record is 106° and Sunday's is 103°. Other records may fall including consecutive number of 90-degree days in Spokane (record: 15 [2017], currently at 11 as of Monday, July 15th). The total number of 100-degree days (record: 6 [2021, 2015], currently at 3). And hottest July overall (record: 77.5° [2021], currently 78.7°).
