SPOKANE, Wash. — Two batches of snow and cold temps that we have not seen yet this winter are on the way within the next 10 days.
The first snow is a weekend snow storm that'll primarily give most of eastern Washington and North Idaho between 1-4" of snow. The timing of this is mainly between 6 a.m. and noon for Spokane, and lasting into the early afternoon for Coeur d'Alene. Winter Weather Advisories have already been issued for this moderate snowfall.
The mountains in North Idaho will see scattered snow showers through the weekend with their snow totals amounting to 6-12".
The second event is another snow storm that is currently expected Monday evening and into Tuesday. The latest models have the snow beginning between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday night with scattered snow showers continuing through the day Tuesday. It's still too early to determine how much snow this batch will have. Check back Saturday night or Sunday morning as the KREM meteorologists will have a far clearer idea of this snowfall after we're finished with the first event.
And finally, the arctic cold hits the following weekend. The days of January 12-14 will be extremely cold... like sub-zero degree temperature cold! While the exact specifics and intensity of the cold will be updated day-by-day, we're already highly confident in an overall cold weather pattern for the Northwest and Northern Plain states.
