Prominent Spokane artist designs logo for 25th annual KREM Cares Tom’s Turkey Drive Event

KREM Cares and Tom’s Turkey Drive celebrate 25 years with a new logo designed by local artist Chris Bovey, symbolizing community, compassion and connection.

SPOKANE, Wash. — In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the KREM Cares Tom’s Turkey Drive, KREM has revealed a new commemorative logo. The design, created in collaboration with Spokane artist Chris Bovey, seeks to capture the spirit of the event, which has been a staple in the Inland Northwest for over two decades.

"We wanted a logo that was more than just a turkey," said KREM 2 anchor Tom Sherry. "It's about the spirit of Tom’s Turkey Drive, which brings us all to the table."

The design process took place in Bovey’s store and studio, located in Spokane’s Garland District, where many of his nostalgic, Spokane-themed prints adorn the walls.

"I try to have each piece have its own flavor," Bovey said. His style, deeply rooted in the Inland Northwest, celebrates the local community through design. "There’s a lot of cool stuff here to celebrate, so using that nostalgic style of design, I decided to celebrate everything local."

Bovey worked with KREM 2 and Second Harvest to create a logo that honors 25 years of KREM Cares Tom’s Turkey Drive, which has provided thousands of families with Thanksgiving meals over the years. Bovey, who grew up in Spokane, has his own personal connection to the event.

"Growing up here, of course, Tom’s Turkey Drive was a staple," he said.

Sherry, who has been with the KREM Cares Tom’s Turkey Drive since its inception, reflected on the event's impact over the years.

"Twenty-five years—it's hard to believe. Twenty-five years of giving," Sherry said. "More than ever, we need to come together to the table."

The new logo will be featured on all materials related to this year’s KREM Cares Tom’s Turkey Drive, whether seen on TV, online, in social media or in local Rosauers stores. The plate depicted in the design is meant to symbolize more than just the event itself but also the thousands of lives it impacts each year.

"Tom’s Turkey Drive is about the good in our community," Sherry said. "The plate is more than just a symbol—it’s about all the kindness and caring that comes from the drive, and that’s what brings us all to the table."
