SPOKANE, Wash. — Avista is reporting that most customers have their power back on after days-long outages across the Inland Northwest.
Initially, the power company is asked customers to prepare for a one to two-day outage while the company attempted to assess the extent of the damage, according to a release from the company.
Avista was able to restore power to more than 20,000 customers as of 8 a.m. Sunday, according to the Avista outage map.
The storm did the most damage to individual distribution service lines that deliver power to individual customers' homes, the release reads. The restoration process for those types of outages is more time-consuming, and labor-intensive, according to Avista.
The outages were spread throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho.
