SPOKANE, Wash. — Some school districts in the Inland Northwest are delaying the start of school on Thursday, Nov. 21, because of dangerous road conditions. The delays are north of Spokane, which saw snow yesterday and some freezing overnight. Most districts in eastern Washington and north Idaho are starting on time.

Weather Forecast

We are not done with the bomb cyclone just yet. Thursday brings a few scattered showers, but warm temperatures mean it’s all rain below about 4,500 feet. Even the mountains aren’t expected to pick up much on Thursday, a few inches all said and done will be it.

Friday brings a more widespread round of rain and snow as a wave of energy spins off the cyclone, taking aim at a Northwest landfall. We’re talking some serious rain in low elevations. Even Spokane could pick up more than a half an inch of rain by the time it comes to an end. Snow, it’s all in the mountains. Snow levels climb to almost 5,000 feet as temperatures soar almost 10 degrees above normal.
