SPOKANE, Wash. — As we hit the first official summer weekend, the heat picks up in a big way and a windy Sunday will increase fire danger for the Inland Northwest.

When: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Impact: High fire danger, due to strong winds.

What to know: All fire-related activities should be avoided, including campfires. Wildfires can spread quickly in these types of weather conditions.

A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in anticipation of the dry and particularly windy weather that day. Wind gusts up to 40mph are likely in addition to the low humidity values that will be down to 15-20%.
