SPOKANE, Wash. — A Heat Advisory will be in place for Spokane and surrounding areas until 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Temperatures will climb into the upper 90s and lower 100s.

The warmest temperatures will be in the middle of the state and down in the Lewiston and Clarkston Valley. While temperatures soar each afternoon climbing to near 100 degrees, the dry atmosphere will allow temperatures to cool each night. Morning lows will dip into the 60s, giving an opportunity to open the windows and pull in some cooler air before things heat up.

Coeur d'Alene, Pullman, Lewiston, Ritzville, Chewelah, Grand Coulee, Omak and Moses Lake are also under the advisory.

The other saving grace of this round of heat is the duration. The high temperatures don't last long. As wind picks up on Wednesday, a cooler airmass will move in. Temperatures will fall from the upper 90s and triple digits back to the mid 80s and low 90s. This will be the closest we've been to normal temperatures since the third week in June.
