SPOKANE, Wash. — Severe thunderstorms rolled through eastern Washington and North Idaho on Tuesday night, creating a dramatic lightning storm in the sky.
If you felt like you saw a whole lot of lightning, you are not wrong. The National Weather Service shared a map that shows a total of 28,630 cloud flashes and 3,499 cloud to ground lightning strikes in 24 hours around the Inland Northwest.
KREM viewers caught the show on camera, sending dozens of incredible photos and videos.
Jesse Lopez watched the storm from Stateline, Idaho, on Tuesday night and sent us the video below.
Other viewers captured photos of the show from as far away as Cocolalla, Idaho, to Spokane Valley, among other locations.
Many viewers also shared their reactions to the storm on social media, saying it was amazing to watch.
“Best storm I’ve seen in Spokane in the 20+ years I’ve lived here,” Terese Van Liew wrote on Facebook.
Another viewer said they have lived in Spokane for 12 years and had never witnessed a storm like the one they saw on Tuesday.
