SPOKANE, Wash. — Southwest Airlines will implement daily, nonstop flights from Spokane to Chicago and Orange County starting June 6.
The new flights will run through September 6. The flights from Spokane International Airport (GEG) will land at John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA) and Chicago Midway International (MDW).
In addition to the new flights, the airline will be resuming the daily, year-round flights from Spokane to Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) on June 6.
Spokane Airport Board Chair Ezra Eckhardt said in a press release that the service represents a continued commitment to the community,
“This new service offers Spokane/Coeur d’Alene Region business and leisure travelers easier access to important business centers as well as popular tourist destinations in Chicago, Southern California and Silicon Valley,” Eckhardt said.
Spokane International Airport CEO Larry Krauter added to the statement.
“We have been working with Southwest to not only expand nonstop service to these important markets to serve passenger demand, but also to through their extensive network to other parts of the United States. San Jose has connection opportunities to several cities in Southern California, and Chicago provides convenient connections to the Washington, DC and Boston metropolitan areas, as well as major cities like Nashville, Raleigh, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Buffalo and South Carolina leisure destinations,” Krauter said.
With these additions, Southwest Airlines now provides nonstop services to eight destinations out of Spokane. The others are Denver, Las Vegas, Oakland, Phoenix and Sacramento.
