How to find out if your flight uses Boeing's 737 MAX 8

Southwest Airlines says it will waive fees for people who want to switch to a different flight if their's uses the 737 MAX 8.

SPOKANE, Wash. — If you're preparing to fly you may be wondering how to find out if your flight involves Boeing's 737 MAX 8.

FAA and Boeing reports say American Airlines and Southwest Airlines are the only U.S. domestic carriers currently using 737 MAX 8's.

Both airlines offer flights out of Spokane International Airport.

We confirmed with American Airlines that none of its 24 MAX 8 aircraft operate in the Pacific Northwest. But Southwest said it does have 737 MAX 8's that fly in and out of Spokane, Seattle, and Portland.

You can find out if you'll be flying on a MAX 8 by using SeatGuru.com.

It's a website, and app, that features aircraft seat maps, seat reviews, and information about the aircraft you'll be traveling on.

Here's how it works: type in the airline your traveling with, the date of your flight and your flight number. Then, select your route by clicking on "view map." The next screen will bring up a seat map and information about your plane's model.

If you find you are booked on a MAX 8, American Airlines said its standard policies for changes apply.
