SPOKANE, Wash. — Travelers from Spokane can now add Los Angeles and San Francisco to their list of vacation destinations.

Alaska Airlines is adding eight new routes in January, including nonstop flights from Spokane to Los Angeles and Spokane to San Francisco.

The first of two daily flights will take off from Spokane International Airport at 7 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at about 9:40 a.m. Another flight leaves at 4:40 p.m. and arrives at about 7:20 p.m.

Two daily return flights are scheduled to depart from Los Angeles at 9:30 a.m. and 8:05 p.m.

The Los Angeles flights will begin service on Jan. 7.

Alaska will also offer twice-daily nonstop flights to San Francisco beginning in March.

The first flight takes off from Spokane at 7 a.m. and arrives in San Francisco at about 9:28 a.m. The second flight departs at 4:20 p.m. and arrives at about 5:49 p.m. Return flights arrive in Spokane at 11:12 a.m. and 9:47 p.m.

The San Francisco flights will begin on March 19.

"We're excited to offer even more nonstops between vibrant Pacific Northwest communities and our growing hubs in California," said Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines managing director of capacity planning and alliances. "Whether it's travel for a weekend getaway to Missoula or a day trip to San Francisco, we're proud to offer nearly 600 daily flights between West Coast cities."

Earlier this month, Alaska announced nonstop flights between Spokane and Everett’s Paine Field beginning Nov. 4.

Tickets for those flights are already on sale, with one-way fares starting at $49.

The announcement made Spokane the 10th destination served by Alaska at the new terminal in Everett.

Alaska also provides nonstop daily service to Seattle, Portland, Boise and San Diego.
