SPOKANE, Wash. — Crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) are now ready to replace the entire surface across the Vantage Bridge along I-90.
WSDOT and its contractor, Garco Construction, will be building an access under the bridge to prepare for the replacement of the current bridge deck. Crews will reportedly replace the bridge deck with pre-cast concrete panels.
Drivers on I-90 will experience single-lane closures Monday through Friday beginning Monday, March 11, through the end of May. Beginning in late May, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction seven days a week with the following exceptions:
- Memorial Day weekend: All lanes open from 7 a.m. Friday, May 24, until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28.
- Fourth of July week: All lanes open from 7 a.m. Monday, July 1, until 8 p.m. Monday, July 8.
- Labor Day weekend: All lanes open from 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, until 8 p.m. Monday Sept. 3.
WSDOT said drivers will experience long delays eastbound on Fridays and westbound on Sundays during the summer travel months. Traffic will be restored to two lanes in each direction for winter from November through April.
