SPOKANE, Wash. — The northbound on-ramp at East Wellesley Avenue that accesses the North Spokane Corridor will be closed on Tuesday, August 27 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) says travelers should plan additional travel time.

Crews will be compacting the slope just off the shoulder and, due to the size of the equipment that will be used, the ramp will close for crews to work safely in the area.

WSDOT says a signed detour will be available from East Wellesley Avenue east to North Freya Street. Travelers will drive north on North Freya Street and rejoin the northbound North Spokane Corridor via the roundabout.

During the temporary closure of the on-ramp, the southbound lanes of the North Spokane Corridor between Freya and Wellesley Avenue will remain open along with Wellesley Avenue between North Market and North Freya Streets.

WSDOT says this construction is part of the North Spokane Corridor Spokane River to Columbia project which includes the Wellesley interchange and work south to the Spokane River.
