WSP confirms both East Valley High School student involved in dump truck crash have passed away

The second girl involved in the crash has now passed away, after the crash happened early Tuesday morning.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — WSP has confirmed that both of the East Valley High School students involved in the dump truck crash in Spokane Valley have passed away.

WSP also said both students were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, they also said the driver of the dump truck was not cited in the incident.

Washington State Patrol responded to a serious injury crash in Spokane Valley on Tuesday morning involving a dump truck and SUV.

The SUV was traveling eastbound on East Trent Avenue when it tried to make a left turn and collided with the dump truck heading westbound, according to Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the dump truck was not hurt.

The crash blocked one lane of westbound traffic on East Trent Avenue at Sullivan Road.

Traffic cameras showed a large emergency response that blocked all westbound lanes, along with one eastbound lane of Trent Ave. Some emergency vehicles were also parked in a nearby shopping center.
