DEER PARK, Wash. — Deputies with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office have confirmed a motorcyclist is dead after crashing with a car in the area of South Mission Ave. and East Crawford St. in Deer Park.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The adult female driver of the SUV and her two child passengers did not appear to be seriously injured.

Police say high speed by the motorcycle is believed to be a factor in the crash.

In a press release, police say they were preparing to clear a call when they heard a motorcycle approaching their location. Deputies flashed their lights at the rider as he passed. A few minutes later deputies received word of a crash involving a motorcycle.

When they arrived, deputies recognized the blue and white Suzuki motorcycle. A citizen was performing CPR on the rider, but a short time later the rider was pronounced dead.

Due to the severity of the incident, Traffic Unit Investigators were called to the scene to assist and began a full investigation.
