SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — Both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass reopened on Thursday morning.
State authorities are asking drivers to watch for snow removal equipment and areas with narrow roadways. Traction tires are also advised.
Drivers must use Exit 53 or 54 to access the Snoqualmie Pass summit area. Many of the on and off ramps from Easton to North Bend remain blocked by deep snow, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation website.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Washington State Patrol and Washington Department of Transportation led a convoy of semi trucks and other vehicles off the pass. To avoid avalanche danger, the vehicles were escorted to North Bend in the eastbound lanes.
Fifty-three inches of snow fell on the pass in two days, state officials said.
WSDOT initially announced on Twitter that the pass was going to be closed for an undetermined amount of time on Tuesday morning.
