Original: An independent investigative team is investigating a shooting and crash involving a man with felony warrants and Grant County Sheriff's deputies.

It started around 1:15 p.m. on Sunday just north of Moses Lake, when deputies tried to arrest a man with felony warrants. During the contact, the man fired at officers and there was "possibly an exchange of gunfire," according to a Facebook post from Kyle Foreman, Public Information Officer for Grant County Sheriff's Office.

It is not clear how many shots were fired by the suspect or deputies, but no one was hurt in the shooting according to Foreman.

At some point, the man got into a vehicle and drove away. Deputies delivered a pit maneuver and the suspect's Jeep flipped on its side, as seen in video from the scene. The driver was hurt in the crash and taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. His condition was not released.

GCSO did not provide details about what happened between the gunfire and the pit maneuver that led to the crash.

No law enforcement officer was injured in the incident.

An investigation into the officer-involved shooting will be handled by the Central Basin Investigative Team (CBIT). The Adams County Sheriff's Office will share updates on the investigation.

The officers involved in the incident are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. This is a standard procedure for shootings that involve officers.

Roads in the area were closed on Sunday while officers investigated the crash scene. All roads have since reopened.

We expect to get an update on the investigation on Monday from the Adams County Sherriff's Office.

This is a developing story. We will provide updates as we get them.
