SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A crash that took place Saturday morning resulted in the death of one of the drivers.

Washington State Patrol officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on I-90 east of mile marker 297 on Starr Road. This is near the Liberty Lake interchange. Motorcyclist Trevor J. Conklin, 43, was deceased at the scene. He was wearing a helmet said officials. His passenger, a 13 year-old, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

WSP troopers said Conklin's motorcycle struck a car ejecting both passengers from the motorcycle. The driver of the car, Tammy L. Pfenning-Lange, 56, was wearing a seatbelt. No injuries were reported.

Officials said eastbound traffic can get by on the right shoulder through the scene. Eastbound traffic is backed up to Sullivan Road and westbound traffic is backed up well across the Idaho State Line.

Washington State Patrol Officials said all lanes of eastbound I-90 have been cleared.  Emergency vehicles remained at the scene on the right shoulder investigating a separate collision that occurred in the backup. Significant backups remain in both directions of I 90 through the area said authorities.

This is a developing story and will be updated as new information is made available.
