Idaho State Police investigate a fatal Saturday morning crash

Idaho State Police responded to reports of a two vehicle crash that turned fatal.

NAMPA, Idaho — Idaho State Police responded Saturday to a fatal car crash.

On Saturday morning at 10:17 a.m., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle fatality crash. The crash took place on State Highway 55 at Hoskins Road, west of Nampa.

 A 20-year-old female from Caldwell was traveling northbound on SH55 in a 2013 Ford Focus when the vehicle crossed over the center median said authorities.

The Ford Focus collided head on with a 2017 Nissan Frontier that was traveling southbound on SH55 driven by a 63-year-old male from Marsing. Officials said both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash.

The female driver was wearing a seatbelt, but the male driver was not. The roadway was blocked for approximately three hours.

The names of the drivers have not been released but the families have been notified. The Idaho State Police are still investigating the nature of the crash.
