Idaho State Police investigating deadly crash on State Highway 200 near Hope

A 69-year-old woman was killed after she lost control of her car on a snow-covered State Highway 200 before striking a guard rail and falling down an embankment.

BONNER COUNTY, Idaho — Idaho State Police is investigating a deadly car crash that happened just before 9:20 a.m. on Jan. 17 near Hope in Bonner County.

According to ISP, the crash occurred on State Highway 200 near milepost 43, just west of Hope. A 69-year-old woman was driving westbound before she lost control on the snow-covered road. Her car swerved into the eastbound ditch lane before hitting a guard rail and falling down a steep embankment.

ISP said the woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from her car. Emergency crews took the woman to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. ISP said the crash remains under investigation.
