CATALDO, Idaho — Work is underway on six miles of I-90 east of Fourth of July Pass to Cataldo, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
Construction started on April 30 and is expected to end sometime in June. Crews are working to finish paving and install a new barrier on a six-mile stretch of the freeway. Until work is completed, the speed limit will be brought down to 55 miles per hour and traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions.
Work on the road started in 2022, when ITD started resurfacing the freeway, widening the inside shoulder and installing a concrete barrier to separate the lanes. This was done to prevent head-on collisions, according to ITD.
