SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and Spokane County Public Works say several construction and maintenance projects will affect Hatch Road to Hamilton Road in North Spokane beginning on Saturday, September 21.

WSDOT says residents and others traveling in the area should plan extra travel time for detours.

Spokane County Public Works says the Hatch Road Project is ahead of schedule and will be paving the road beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Hatch Road will not be accessible to any traffic for the majority of Saturday.

WSDOT says that starting on Monday, September 23, the US 395 and Hatch Road ramp closures will begin.

The ramps will be closed at the following times:

  • Monday, September 23 and Thursday, September 26 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following days
    • northbound on-ramp and southbound off-ramp closed for milling and paving
  • Tuesday, September 24 and Friday, September 27 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following days
    • southbound on-ramp and northbound off-ramp – milling/paving
  • Wednesday, September 25 will be reserved for any additional milling.

These paving projects require full closures and WSDOT will provide detours. Only one ramp will be closed at a time and ramps will reopen between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Detours

During the northbound off-ramp closure (Sept. 24 and 27), drivers can travel north on US 395 and take the Farwell Road exit. They can then turn onto Hastings Road and turn onto US 395 and Division Street, heading north to Wandermere Road.

During the northbound on-ramp closure (Sept. 23 and 26), drivers can travel west on Hatch Road and head north to Monroe Road. From there, drivers can turn right to rejoin US 395.

During the southbound off-ramp closure (Sept. 23 and 26), drivers will need to turn onto Monroe Road and make a left turn onto Dartford Drive to head south onto Hatch Road.

During the southbound on-ramp closure (Sept. 24 and 27), drivers can travel south on Wandermere Road to US 395 and Division Street. From there, they can travel on Hastings Road and use the interchange at Farewell Road to rejoin southbound US 395.

WSDOT says a speed reduction of 45 mph will be in place throughout the work zones until the project is complete.
